This is a guide price — not an offer
This is an instant guide price, not an offer. It's based on the carat and weight you entered. Your final, no-obligation offer is confirmed only after we professionally test the purity and weigh your items. If you're happy, we pay the same day by bank transfer. If not, we return everything to you free and fully insured.
Is the estimate an offer?
No. The figure you see on our estimate tool is a guide price based on the carat and weight you enter and the live gold market. It is not a binding offer. We make a firm offer only after we have professionally tested and weighed your items in person.
Gold prices move throughout the day, so any offer we make is valid the same working day.
How do you test gold?
Every item is checked by a trained member of our team using established, non-destructive methods. We confirm the carat with acid testing and, for most items, X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis, which reads the precise metal content without damaging your jewellery. We then weigh each item on calibrated scales.
All testing and weighing is free, with no obligation to accept our offer.
Which carats do you buy?
We buy hallmarked and unhallmarked gold across the common UK carats:
- 9ct (37.5% gold)
- 14ct (58.5% gold)
- 18ct (75% gold)
- 22ct (91.6% gold)
- 24ct (fine gold)

How and when do I get paid?
Once you accept our offer, we pay by bank transfer (BACS or Faster Payments) to a UK account in your name. Payment is normally sent the same working day that you accept, and most transfers arrive within a few hours. We do not charge any fees to pay you.
Is postage insured?
Yes. We provide a fully insured, tracked Royal Mail Special Delivery label, so your parcel is covered in transit from the moment it is accepted by the Post Office until it reaches us. Postage to us is free.
What if I do not accept the offer?
That is completely fine — there is no obligation to sell. If you would rather not proceed, we return your items to you by the same fully insured, tracked service, free of charge. You will never be charged for testing or for having your items sent back.
How long does it take?
From the day your parcel reaches us, we usually test, weigh and send your offer within one working day. If you accept, payment follows the same working day. Returns, if you decline, are dispatched within one working day too.
How do you keep my items safe?
Your items are logged and photographed on arrival, then handled in a secure, monitored facility. Each order is kept separate and identifiable throughout, and your goods remain insured while they are in our care until payment is made or your items are returned.
What about high-value items?
For higher-value parcels we can arrange additional insurance cover and a dedicated, fully tracked service. If you think your items are worth more than the standard cover, please contact us first so we can confirm the right level of protection before you post anything.
How do you handle my data?
We only collect the information we need to value your items, verify your identity and pay you, and we handle it in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We do not sell your personal data. You can read the full details in our privacy policy.
Do you buy coins and broken jewellery?
Yes. We buy gold in almost any form, including broken or tangled chains, single earrings, worn rings, dental gold and gold coins. Condition does not affect the value of the gold itself — we pay on the carat and the weight, so there is no need to clean, sort or repair anything first.
What if I do not know the carat or weight?
No problem. You do not need to know either to send your items in. Our estimate tool gives a rough guide if you can read a hallmark or have kitchen scales, but it is only there to help — when your parcel arrives we professionally test the carat and weigh everything for you, free of charge, and base our offer on the confirmed results.
